Dachshtober Longdog Festival brings together all longdog lovers from all over the region, state and country.
Our aim is to educate owners about IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) while still having a pawsome time.
Join us for a great family day out with the Longdog Dash, fancy dress competitions, markets stall selling everything “dog centric “ , food and beverage stalls.
IVDD Support & Information
We at Dachshtober support all the hard work that DISA (Dachshund IVDD Support Australia) does in helping educate dachshund families about this horrible disease.
DISA also provides information on alternative treatments and therapies to surgery and resources to support families struggling after the diagnosis. DISA also provides information on sharing networks for equipment to help dachshunds who are in recovery stages.
Meet the creators…
Leesa & Nilza
4 years ago we came up with a crazy idea to create a festival where all longdog lovers could come together
We wanted to spread the word and educate owners about IVDD while still wanting it to be a fun family day out for humans and their longdogs.
We never imagined we would create such a fantastic following with over 2000 people attending our festivals along with their longdogs!
We were so blessed to have to opportunity to go on the The Weekend Today Show and be apart of a Better Homes & Gardens episode.
Dr Harry attended our festival in 2024 and we were star struck.
We never though that from such a crazy idea we have created something so special and dear to our hearts, and we absolutely love sharing it with all of you.
